الديمقراطية النيوليبرالية لا تنتج مواطنين، بل مستهلكين. ولا تنتج مجتمعات، بل مراكز تسوّق. والنتيجة الصافية مجتمعٌ مفتّت من أفراد منعزلين، يشعرون بالإحباط والعجز الاجتماعي. وخلاصة القول إن النيوليبرالية هي العدوّ الأول والأخطر للديمقراطية التشاركية الحقيقية، ليس في الولايات المتحدة وحدها بل في كل أنحاء الكوكب، وستظل كذلك في المستقبل المنظور.
