ليس قول الحقيقة للسلطة مهنةً شريفةً بوجه خاص. ينبغي للمرء أن يبحث عن جمهور له شأن، وفوق ذلك (وهذا شرط مهم آخر) لا ينبغي أن يُنظر إليه بوصفه جمهورًا، بل بوصفه جماعةً تجمعها اهتمامات مشتركة، يأمل المرء أن يشارك فيها بفاعلية وبنّاء.
