يبدو صوت عصرنا غير مواتٍ للفن بحالٍ من الأحوال، أو على الأقل للون الفني الذي يتّجه إليه بحثي. فمجرى الأحداث وجّه عبقرية الزمن وجهةً تهدّد بإبعادها أكثر فأكثر عن المثال الفني. ذلك أن الفن لا بدّ أن يغادر الواقع، وأن يرتفع بذاته فوق الضرورة والحاجة؛ فالفن ابنة الحرية، ويستمدّ قواعده وأحكامه من ضرورة الأرواح لا من ضرورة المادة.
