قبول حكمة المعلّم دون تفكير أمرٌ يسير على معظم الصبية والفتيات، إذ لا يتطلب جهدًا في التفكير المستقل، ويبدو معقولًا لأن المعلّم يعرف أكثر من تلاميذه؛ وهو فضلًا عن ذلك طريقٌ لكسب ودّ المعلّم، ما لم يكن رجلًا استثنائيًّا. غير أن عادة القبول السلبي كارثية في الحياة اللاحقة، إذ تجعل الإنسان يبحث عن زعيم ويقبله، ويقبل بأن يكون زعيمًا كلُّ من تبوّأ ذلك المنصب.
