أعتقد أنّ مكان المعلّم وعمله في المدرسة ينبغي أن يُفهما من هذا الأساس نفسه. فالمعلّم ليس في المدرسة ليفرض أفكارًا معيّنة على الطفل، أو ليُكوّن فيه عادات بعينها، بل هو فيها عضوٌ من المجتمع، مهمّته أن يختار المؤثّرات التي ستمسّ الطفل، وأن يساعده على الاستجابة لها استجابةً سليمة.
