أمي وأبي هما الوحيدان على وجه هذه الأرض اللذان لن أبخل عليهما بشيء. فإن حققتُ أعمالًا عظيمة، فهي من صنع أيديهما؛ إنهما إنسانان رائعان، وحبّهما المطلق لأبنائهما يرفعهما فوق أعلى المديح. وهذا الحبّ يستر كل ما فيهما من نقائص، نقائص ربما نشأت عن حياةٍ شاقة.
