قبل آلاف السنين ازدهرت في أفريقيا حضاراتٌ لا تقلّ شأنًا عن حضارات القارات الأخرى. وفي تلك القرون كان الأفارقة أحرارًا سياسيًا ومستقلّين اقتصاديًا. وكانت أنماطهم الاجتماعية خاصةً بهم، وثقافاتهم أصيلةً حقًا.
