أنا مهتم بالماضي. ربما لأنّ أحد الأسباب أننا لا نستطيع صنعه ولا تغييره، فالحاضر بالكاد يمكن محوه. أما الماضي فليس في النهاية سوى ذكرى، أو حلم. أتعلم أن ماضيّ نفسه يبدو لي متغيرًا باستمرار حين أستعيده، أو حين أقرأ أشياء تستهويني.
