من ظنّ أنّ الجبر حيلةٌ للوصول إلى المجاهيل فقد ظنّ باطلاً. ولا ينبغي الالتفات إلى أنّ الجبر والهندسة مختلفان في الظاهر؛ فالجبر (الجَبر والمقابلة) حقائقُ هندسيةٌ تُثبتها القضيتان الخامسةُ والسادسةُ من الكتاب الثاني من الأصول.
