الخطوة الأولى لتصفية شعب هي محو ذاكرته. دمّر كتبه وثقافته وتاريخه. ثم كلّف أحداً بتأليف كتب جديدة، وصناعة ثقافة جديدة، واختراع تاريخ جديد. وعمّا قريب سيبدأ ذلك الشعب في نسيان ما هو وما كان... إن صراع الإنسان مع السلطة هو صراع الذاكرة مع النسيان.
