تثقيف الجماهير سياسيًا لا يعني، ولا يمكن أن يعني، إلقاء خطاب سياسي. إنه يعني أن تحاول، بلا كلل وبشغف، أن تعلّم الجماهير أن كل شيء متوقف عليها؛ وأنه إن ركدنا فالمسؤولية مسؤوليتها، وإن مضينا إلى الأمام فالفضل يعود إليها أيضًا، وأنه لا وجود لصانع خارق، ولا لرجل شهير سيتحمل المسؤولية عن كل شيء، بل إن الصانع الحقيقي هو الشعب نفسه، وأن الأيدي السحرية ليست في آخر المطاف سوى أيدي الشعب.
