ما ينبغي اجتثاثه هو المبدأ نفسه: مبدأ الدوغمائية في الدين والأخلاق والفلسفة، لا أيّ تجلٍّ بعينه لهذا المبدأ. وإنّ حجر الزاوية في تربية تهدف إلى تكوين العقول العظيمة، يجب أن يكون الاعتراف بمبدأ أن الغاية هي استثارة أكبر قدر ممكن من القوة الفكرية، وإلهام أشدّ حبٍّ للحقيقة.
