في بداية مسيرتهم يشعر كثير من الكتّاب بحاجة إلى الإفراط في الكتابة. يختارون عبارات مصقولة بعناية، ويريدون أن يُبهروا قرّاءهم بثروتهم اللغوية. وبتجاوزات لغتهم يحاول هؤلاء الشبان والشابات إخفاء إحساسهم بقلّة الخبرة. ومع النضج يزداد الكاتب ثقةً بأفكاره، فيجد نبرته الحقيقية، ويطوّر أسلوباً بسيطاً وفعّالاً.
