الطبّ في حالته الراهنة، فيما أرى، قد اكتُشف كلُّه تقريباً، بقدر ما يعلّم التفاصيل الخاصة والتدابير الصحيحة في كل حالة. فمن يفهم الطبّ على هذا النحو يعتمد قليلاً جداً على حسن الحظ، بل يستطيع أن ينفع مع الحظ أو من دونه. فقد تأسس الطبّ كلّه، والمبادئ الممتازة التي اكتُشفت فيه لا تحتاج، كما هو واضح، إلى حسن الحظ إلا قليلاً.
