أؤمن بأنّ واجب المجتمع تجاه التعليم هو، لذلك، أسمى واجب أخلاقي عليه. فبالقانون والعقاب، وبالتحريك الاجتماعي والنقاش، يستطيع المجتمع أن يُنظّم نفسه ويُشكّل ذاته بطريقة عشوائية أو مصادفة إلى حدٍّ ما. أمّا عبر التعليم، فيستطيع أن يصوغ غاياته، وينظّم وسائله ومواردَه، فيُشكّل نفسه بوضوح واقتصاد نحو الاتجاه الذي يريد أن يمضي فيه.
