في كلّ ركن من أركان الكون نرى وسائل مُعدّة بأدقّ حيلة لتحقيق الغايات المقصودة منها، وفي تركيب النبات أو جسم الحيوان نعجب كيف أُعدّ كلّ شيء لخدمة الغايتين الكبريين للطبيعة: حفظ الفرد، وبقاء النوع.
