تهدف الفلسفة إلى توضيح الأفكار منطقياً. الفلسفة ليست مجموعة من العقائد، بل نشاط. والعمل الفلسفي يتألف في جوهره من إيضاحات. ولا تُفضي الفلسفة إلى «قضايا فلسفية»، بل إلى توضيح القضايا. فبغير الفلسفة تكون الأفكار كأنها غائمة وغير واضحة المعالم؛ ومهمتها أن تجلّيها وأن ترسم لها حدوداً حادة.
