يميل كل جيل إلى تربية أبنائه ليتدبّروا أمرهم في العالم القائم، لا وفق الغاية الحقيقية للتربية: بلوغ الإنسانية أسمى تحقّقٍ ممكنٍ بوصفها إنسانية. فالآباء يربّون أبناءهم كي ينجحوا، والأمراء يربّون رعاياهم أدواتٍ لأغراضهم.
