الحسّ المشترك ليس شيئًا جامدًا ثابتًا، بل هو في تحوّل دائم، يغتني بالمفاهيم العلمية والآراء الفلسفية التي دخلت إلى التداول العام. و«الحسّ المشترك» هو فولكلور الفلسفة، ويقف دائمًا في منزلة وسطى بين الفولكلور بمعناه المعتاد والفلسفةِ والعلمِ واقتصادِ العلماء. والحسّ المشترك يصنع فولكلور المستقبل، وهو طورٌ متحجّر نسبيًا من المعرفة الشعبية في زمانٍ ومكانٍ معيّنين.
