أردتُ أن أفهم الأشياء ثم أتحرّر منها. احتجتُ إلى أن أتعلّم كيف أُكثّف الأشياء والأفكار في عدسةٍ واحدة، فالأشياء أكبر من أن تُرى دفعةً واحدة، كجميع كتب المكتبة، وكلّ ما هو مبعثرٌ على الطاولات. ربما تستطيع أن تضعها كلّها في فقرةٍ واحدة، أو في بيتٍ واحد من أبيات أغنية، إن أصبتَ الصياغة.
