ما لم أُقنَع بالكتاب المقدس والعقل الصريح، فإني لا أقبل سلطة البابوات والمجامع، لأنها تناقضت بعضها بعضًا، ويبقى ضميري أسيرَ كلمة الله. لا أستطيع ولا أريد أن أتراجع عن شيء، لأن مخالفة الضمير ليست صوابًا ولا أمنًا. ها أنا ذا قائم، لا أستطيع غير ذلك. أعانني الله. آمين.
