التعساء أنانيون، حاقدون، ظالمون، قساة، وأقلّ قدرةً على فهم بعضهم بعضاً من الحمقى. الشقاء لا يجمع الناس، بل يفرّقهم، وحتى حيث يُتوقَّع أن يتّحد الناس بتشابه أحزانهم، تتولّد ظلامات وقسوة أكثر بكثير مما يتولّد في أجواء أكثر هدوءاً.
