تُعلّمنا التجربة أنّ لدى معظم الناس حدًّا تعجز عنده طبيعتهم عن تلبية متطلبات الحضارة. ومن يسعون إلى مستوى أعلى مما تسمح به طبيعتهم يقعون ضحايا للعصاب. لكان خيرًا لهم أن يبقوا أقلّ «كمالًا».
