يمكن لنمط الحياة أن يكون مشتركاً بين أفراد من أعمار ومراتب وأنشطة اجتماعية مختلفة. ويمكن أن يُثمر علاقات قوية لا تشبه تلك المؤسسية. أرى أن نمط الحياة يمكن أن يُنتج ثقافةً وأخلاقاً. وأن تكون «مثلياً»، في رأيي، ليس أن تتماهى مع السمات النفسية والأقنعة الظاهرة للمثليّ، بل أن تسعى إلى تحديد نمط حياة وتطويره.
