التواضعُ أن ندرك الواقعَ لا بالقياس إلى ذواتنا، بل في استقلاله المقدّس. أن نرى ونحكم ونفعل من نقطة السكون في أنفسنا. عندئذٍ يتلاشى الكثير، ويقع في موضعه كلُّ ما يبقى. وفي نقطة السكون في مركز كياننا نلتقي بعالمٍ تسكن فيه الأشياءُ جميعًا بالطريقة نفسها. عندئذٍ تصبح الشجرةُ لغزًا، والغيمةُ وحيًا، وكلُّ إنسانٍ كونًا من الثراء لا نلمح منه إلا ومضات. وحياةُ البساطة بسيطةٌ، لكنها تفتح لنا كتابًا لا نتجاوز فيه أولَ مقطعٍ من كلماته أبدًا.
