تتيح لي التصويرُ الفوتوغرافي أن أبلغ نوعًا من المعرفة الدنيا، إذ تمدّني بمجموعةٍ من الأشياء الجزئية، وتُرضي نزعةً صنميّةً لديّ: ذلك «الأنا» الذي يحبّ المعرفة، ويغذّي فيها تفضيلًا عاطفيًّا خاصًّا. وعلى هذا النحو، أستمتع بملامح معيّنة من سيرة الكاتب، تُمتعني كما تُمتعني بعض الصور الفوتوغرافية، وقد سمّيتُ هذه الملامح «السيرويمات». والتصويرُ الفوتوغرافي من التاريخ بمنزلة السيرويم من السيرة.
