من كان شرفه رهنَ آراء العامة، فعليه أن يجاهد يومًا بعد يوم بأشدّ القلق، يفعل ويدبّر ليحفظ سمعته؛ فالعامة متقلّبة متناقضة، ولذلك إن لم تُصَن السمعةُ بعناية، ماتت سريعًا.
