أودّ أن تفهم فهمًا تامًا، وبعواطفك أيضًا، أنني معتقلٌ سياسيّ، وسأظل سجينًا سياسيًا، وليس لديّ اليوم ولا في المستقبل ما أخجل منه في هذا الوضع. بل إنني، في العمق، قد طلبتُ بمعنًى ما هذا الاعتقال وهذا الحكم، لأنني رفضتُ دائمًا أن أغيّر رأيي، وهو رأيٌ كنت مستعدًا من أجله أن أبذل حياتي لا أن أبقى في السجن فحسب. ولذلك لا يسعني إلا أن أكون هادئًا وراضيًا عن نفسي.
