يرى الأطباء ذوو الخبرة أن الحرارة التي تنبعث من اليد، حين توضع على المريض، نافعةٌ نفعًا كبيرًا. وكثيرًا ما بدا لي، وأنا أُسكّن أوجاع مرضاي، أن ليدي خاصيةً فريدة تسحب الأوجاع والفضلات المختلفة من مواضع الألم وتجذبها بعيدًا، إذ أضع يدي على الموضع وأمدّ أصابعي نحوه. وهكذا يعرف بعض العلماء أن الصحة يمكن أن تُغرس في المريض بإشاراتٍ معيّنة وبالتلامس، كما تنتقل بعض الأمراض من إنسانٍ إلى آخر.
