أرجو ألا يظنّ أحدٌ من الحاضرين أنني أقدّم نقدي الشخصي للنظام الغربي لأعرض الاشتراكية بديلاً. فقد عايشتُ الاشتراكية التطبيقية في بلدٍ تحقّق فيه البديل، ولن أتكلّم لصالحها بالتأكيد. وقد كتب عالم الرياضيات السوفيتي الشهير شافاريفيتش، العضو في أكاديمية العلوم السوفيتية، كتاباً رائعاً بعنوان «الاشتراكية»، وهو تحليل عميق يبيّن أن الاشتراكية بكل أنواعها وألوانها تفضي إلى الفناء التام للروح الإنسانية وإلى تسوية البشرية وتحويلها إلى موت.
