قلتُ من قبل إنّ أجمل الانفعالات الدينية وأعمقها التي يمكن أن نختبرها هو إحساسنا بالغيبي. وهذا الغيبي هو قوة كل علم حقيقي. وإن كان ثمة مفهوم لله، فهو روحٌ لطيفة، لا صورةُ إنسانٍ التي رسخت في أذهان كثيرين. وجوهر ديني إعجابٌ متواضع بهذه الروح السامية اللامتناهية التي تتجلّى في التفاصيل الدقيقة التي نستطيع إدراكها بعقولنا الواهنة الضعيفة.
