الشدّة معلّمٌ صارم، وضعه علينا مَن يعرفنا أكثر مما نعرف أنفسنا، ويحبّنا أكثر أيضًا. فمَن يصارعنا يقوّي أعصابنا، ويشحذ مهارتنا؛ وخصمنا هو عوننا. وهذا الصراع مع الصعاب يعرّفنا بغايتنا، ويجبرنا على النظر إليها من كل وجوهها. ولن يدعنا نكون سطحيين.
