الفرق بين من يقوده الرأي أو الانفعال، ومن يقوده العقل: الأول يفعل، شاء أم أبى، أشياء يجهلها تماماً؛ أما الثاني فلا يخضع لأحد، ولا يفعل إلا ما يعلم أنه الأهم في حياته، وما يرغب فيه أكثر من غيره لذلك السبب. ولهذا أسمّي الأول عبداً، والثاني حرّاً.
