يتغيّر القلب... لكنّنا لا نعلم بذلك إلا من القراءة أو بالتخيّل؛ فتغيّره في الواقع، كبعض الظواهر الطبيعية، بطيءٌ إلى حدٍّ أننا حتى لو استطعنا أن نميّز تباعًا كلَّ حالةٍ من حالاته المختلفة، يبقى قد أُعفينا من الإحساس الفعلي بالتغيّر.
