على القائد أن يبذل جهده الدائم في إبقاء جنوده على اطّلاع بأحدث الخبرات والتطورات التكتيكية، وأن يُصرّ على تطبيقها عمليًّا. وعليه أن يحرص على تدريب مرؤوسيه وفق أحدث المتطلبات. وأفضل صورة للرعاية بالجنود هي التدريب الجيد، لأنه يقي من خسائر لا داعي لها.
