في ظل الملكية الخاصة، يسعى كلٌّ إلى أن يفرض على الآخر سلطةً غريبةً عنه، كي يحقق بذلك إشباع حاجته الأنانية. ولذلك فإن تزايد كمية الأشياء يصاحبه توسّعٌ في مجال القوى الغريبة التي يخضع لها الإنسان، وكل منتجٍ جديد يمثّل إمكانيةً جديدةً للاحتيال المتبادل والنهب المتبادل.
