لا يمكن للمجتمع الدولي أن يقبل بتهميش مجتمعات بأكملها بسبب لون بشرتها. فالأفارقة وذوو الأصول الأفريقية من أكثر الفئات تضررًا من العنصرية. وكثيرًا ما يُحرمون من حقوقهم الأساسية، كالحصول على خدمات صحية وتعليم ذي جودة. وهذه المظالم الجوهرية لها تاريخ طويل ومؤلم.
