الديمقراطية الحقّة، الحيّة النامية الملهِمة، تضع ثقتها في الشعب: ثقةً بأنّ الشعب لن ينتخب ببساطة رجالًا يمثّلون آراءه بكفاءة وأمانة، بل سينتخب أيضًا رجالًا يمارسون حكمهم الضميريّ. ثقةً بأنّ الشعب لن يُدين من يقودهم إخلاصهم للمبادئ إلى مسالك غير شعبية، بل سيكافئ الشجاعة، ويحترم الشرف، وفي النهاية يُقرّ بالحق.
