يجب أن تتحرر حكومتنا، الاتحادية منها والولائية، من النفوذ الشرير لمصالح الفئات الخاصة أو سيطرتها. فكما هددت مصالح القطن والرق سلامتنا السياسية قبل الحرب الأهلية، تُفسد اليوم مصالح الشركات الكبرى كثيراً ما تسيطر على رجال الحكم وأساليبه لتحقيق أرباحها. يجب أن نطرد مصالح الفئات الخاصة من السياسة.
