عصرنا تراجيديٌّ في جوهره، لذلك نأبى أن نأخذه مأخذ التراجيديا. وقعت الكارثة، ونحن بين الأنقاض، نشرع في بناء مأوى صغير جديد، ونعلّق آمالًا صغيرة جديدة. إنه عملٌ شاقّ حقًّا: فلم يعد ثمّة طريقٌ ممهّد إلى المستقبل، لكننا نلتفّ حول العقبات أو نتسلّق فوقها. علينا أن نحيا، مهما سقطت من سماواتٍ.
