نعيش أخيرًا في كهف أفلاطون، إذا تأملنا حال أولئك المأسورين في الكهف، الذين لم يكونوا يملكون إلا مشاهدة الظلال المارّة على الجدار الخلفي، وقد أقنعتهم تلك الظلال بأنها واقعهم الوحيد. وأرى تشابهًا عميقًا بين كل ذلك والعصر الذي نعيشه. لم نعد نعيش عبر الصور وحدها، بل عبر صورٍ لا وجود لها أصلًا، ليست نتاج إسقاطٍ مادي، بل نتاج الافتراض الخالص.
