ما زال العنف ضد المرأة من أبشع انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان وأكثرها منهجيةً وانتشاراً في العالم. إنه تهديدٌ لكلّ امرأة، وعائقٌ أمام جهودنا جميعاً من أجل التنمية والسلام والمساواة بين الجنسين في كلّ المجتمعات. العنف ضد المرأة انتهاكٌ لحقوق الإنسان دائماً، وجريمةٌ دائماً، وغيرُ مقبولٍ أبداً. فلنتعامل مع هذه القضية بالجدّية القاتلة التي تستحقّها.
