المعرفة الطبيعية، وهي تسعى إلى إشباع الحاجات المادية، وجدت الأفكار التي وحدها تُسكّن الظمأ الروحي. أقول إن المعرفة الطبيعية، حين أرادت أن تكتشف قوانين الراحة، اضطُرّت إلى اكتشاف قوانين السلوك، وأن تُرسي أسس أخلاقٍ جديدة.
