قلتُ هذا في مناسبات كثيرة سابقة: لو كان التركيب السكاني في سنغافورة مختلفاً، لو كان 75% هنوداً و15% ملايويين والباقي صينيين، لما نجحت التجربة. ذلك أن هؤلاء يؤمنون بسياسة الخصومة والمعارضة. لكن لأن الثقافة السائدة دفعت الناس إلى البحث عن مخرج عملي من مصاعبهم، فقد نجحت التجربة.
