الموسيقى أنقى صور الفن، ولذلك فهي أعلى تعبير مباشر عن الجمال، بشكلٍ وروحٍ واحدٍ بسيط، وأقلُّ الفنون اعتمادًا على ما هو خارج عنها. ويخيّل إلينا أنّ تجلّي اللامتناهي في صور المخلوقات المتناهية هو الموسيقى نفسها، صامتةً ومرئيّة.
