كان جدّي إنسانًا بارع الموهبة، ومن بين صفاته الكثيرة أثارت واحدةٌ منها إعجابي دائمًا. فبينما كان الماضي كتابًا قرأه مرارًا وتكرارًا، كان المستقبل عملًا أدبيًا فنيًّا آخر يسكب فيه نفسه بعمق تفكيرٍ وتركيز. وقد أخبرني عددٌ لا يُحصى من الناس منذ وفاته كيف كان يقرأ المستقبل، وكان هذا بلا شك من أعظم قواه.
