في تلك السنين الطويلة الموحشة، تحوّل شوقي إلى حرية شعبي إلى شوقٍ إلى حرية جميع الناس، بيضًا وسودًا. كنتُ أعلم علم اليقين أنّ المضطَهِد يجب أن يتحرّر تمامًا كما يجب أن يتحرّر المضطهَد.
