حين يرغب أصحاب السلطة في استخدام الصورة مجددًا، لتبرير أمرٍ سيّئ، يلجؤون إلى الصحافة. فتصنع لهم صورةً إنسانية لشيطان، أو صورة شيطانية لإنسانٍ إنساني. يأخذون الضحيّة فيجعلونه يبدو المجرم، ويأخذون المجرم فيجعلونه يبدو ضحيّة الجريمة.
