قوةُ الحركة الجماهيرية تنبعُ من ميل أتباعها إلى العمل الموحّد والتضحية بالنفس. وحين نعزو نجاح حركةٍ ما إلى عقيدتها أو مذهبها أو دعايتها أو قيادتها أو قسوتها وما شابه، فإنما نشير إلى أدوات التوحيد ووسائل غرس الاستعداد للتضحية. ولعل من المستحيل أن نفهم طبيعة الحركة الجماهيرية ما لم ندرك أن شغلها الشاغل هو تنمية تلك القدرة على العمل الموحّد والتضحية وتعهدها وإدامتها.
