إنّ التعلّق بالجماعة الصغيرة، وحبّ الفصيل الصغير الذي ننتمي إليه في المجتمع، هو المبدأ الأول، بمثابة البذرة، للعواطف العامة. وهو الحلقة الأولى في السلسلة التي نمضي بها نحو حبّ الوطن والإنسانية. ومصلحة هذا الجزء من التنظيم الاجتماعي أمانةٌ في أيدي كلّ من يتألف منه؛ ولأنّ لا يبرّر إساءةَ استخدامها إلا الأشرار، فلا يبيعها لقاء منفعته الشخصية إلا الخونة.
